Le deck

This is our first choice for a multi day wedding, with a welcome dinner the night before or a brunch the morning after. The Olympic pool is a spectacular backdrop but it imposes discipline: keep the circulation clear, and light from the ground rather than from above, the reflections on the water will do the rest. We keep florals in whites, greens and sand tones here, anything more colourful fights the blue. And plan for discreet heating from September onwards, the sea breeze drops quickly once dinner is over.

Dinner around the pool

Here you trade marble for wood, chandeliers for palm trees, and the Principality for the Riviera spirit of the nineteen thirties. Monte-Carlo Beach is a forty room hotel set right on the water, on the border between Monaco and Roquebrune. You can arrive in a swimsuit or in black tie, the place accommodates both with equal grace. The Art Deco room of Le Deck and its wide terrace run alongside the legendary Olympic seawater pool. The palms, the taut lines of the architecture, the blue of the pool and the sea behind it make up a setting nobody needs to improve. From cocktails to a full banquet, the space absorbs very different formats without ever losing its ease. The food is coastal, Mediterranean, generous, built around produce rather than performance. This is the venue for barefoot weddings that gave up none of their standards.
